Lanna Thai- Laconia

on

When you are hungry from a whole day of traveling and in between the picturesque fall colors, nothing beats the warm homely food. I was in New Hampshire along with my gang for the amazing fall colors.

It was after 8 PM and we were searching for some amazing and then we came across Lanna Thai. The place is a hole in the wall. Don’t judge the place by its outlook. The place is small but compensates with the amazing food and service.

Ambiance 6/10

The Lanna Thai is a small place with a modest outlook. The interiors are decorated with cheap old furniture which is actually not some kind of a design. The walls are painted bright orange and the front desk is decorated with Thai ornaments such as elephants and water fountain.

Servitor 8.5/10

The sole person who was working on the counter also doubled as a server. The Laconia is a small town, thus there was no rush in the restaurant. The service was quick and everything was handled as we asked too. In the end, the lady even prepared separate checks for everyone.

Cuisine 9/10

The menu offers a variety of dishes from Thailand. We ordered TomYum Soup with chicken, the usual orange chicken, Pad Pak, Pad Ka Prow and in the end we had fried ice cream. The soup was delicious and flavors were spot on. I loved the oyster mushrooms in the soup.

I have never had bad orange chicken, I have had okay and amazing orange chicken. The orange chicken of Lanna Thai was just in between somewhere. So I was happy with the serving.

The Pad Pak and Pad Ka Prow were full of flavors that you expect from Thai spices. For drinks, we had ordered Thai Iced Tea and Cold Coffee. I would recommend trying Thai Iced Tea as it is rare to find his kind of flavors. The fried ice cream was normal and too oily for me so I was done after two bites but everyone else liked.

Price 8.5/10

The price was decent, every main course is priced around $11 on an average. The price is worth it if you compare it with the portion sizes.

Ruling 8.5/10

Must Try. If you happen to be in New Hampshire then do try this restaurant. You won’t be disappointed.

Bon Appetite!!!
